Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport ranked sixth-highest in overall passenger satisfaction among medium- size airports, just one point behind three airports tied for third place, according to an annual survey of passenger attitudes toward the nation’s airports. The 2008 North America Airport Satisfaction Study by J.D. Power and Associates, now in its eighth year, evaluates overall airport satisfaction based on six specific performance factors — airport accessibility, baggage claim, check- in/baggage check process, terminal facilities, security check, and food and retail services. In the medium-size category, No. 1 is Chicago Midway International; No. 2 is New York’s LaGuardia International; and No. 3 is a three-way tie among Memphis International, Ronald Reagan Washington National and Tampa International.
