Air Berlin Names New Board Member

Air Berlin has announced that Wolfgang Kurth will be joining its board of directors on June 1, 2008.

Mr Kurth will be responsible for the entire technical area of the Air Berlin Group, that has been brought together under the umbrella of Air Berlin Technik.

Mr Kurth began his career at Deutsche Lufthansa in 1977. He was later appointed as manager of industrial engineering at the Hapag Lloyd charter airline, where he was promoted to technical director in 1982 and managing director in 1990.

Joachim Hunold, CEO of Air Berlin, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to appoint Wolfgang Kurth to this post, as he is both an experienced and successful airline manager.”
