Azerbaijan Wants to Diversify Energy Export Routes – Leader

[Presenter] Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has already made a speech at the third Energy Security Summit [in Kiev]. He said that, like other participants in the summit, Azerbaijan is interested in ensuring energy security.

[Aliyev, addressing the summit, with overlaid Azerbaijani translation] After approximately one year, we are today talking about cooperation and energy corridors in the region of the Caspian, Black and Baltic seas. The practical steps that we are taking have resulted in the creation of appropriate documents. The documents to be signed and endorsed today will create a strong basis for the implementation of our projects. Azerbaijan is conducting a policy of diversification in the energy sphere. As an oil and gas producer, we are interested in the presence of several pipeline infrastructures [as heard].
