Telvent Q1 Revenue Up 17%

Telvent, an IT company catering to the energy, transportation, and public administration industry segments, has reported revenue of E136.1 million for the first quarter 2008, up 16.9% from E116.5 million during the same period in 2007.
The net income for the first quarter 2008 was E7.2 million, 14.5% more than E6.3 million reported during the same period in 2007. EPS in Q1 2008 was E0.25 compared to E0.21 in the same period in 2007.
The company has signed new contracts worth E168.8 million in the first quarter of 2008, down 6.6% from E180.7 million in the same period of 2007.
Manuel Sanchez, chairman and CEO of Telvent, said: "We have delivered double-digit revenue growth during the last 15 quarters. During this quarter we have also started to see the positive benefits derived from our successful integration of the Matchmind acquisition, that we expect will put Telvent in a leadership position in the IT services market."
