UAE, Luxembourg sign open sky accord

ABU DHABI, May 23 (Xinhua) — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg have signed an “open sky” air services agreement, the official Emirates News Agency reported on Friday.

The agreement was cosigned by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, and Charles Klein, Director General of Luxembourg Civil Aviation Directorate, said the report.

The UAE and Luxembourg agreed to designate all UAE airlines ( Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia and RAK Airways) as designated airlines of UAE, and Luxair and Cargolux as the designated airlines of the Luxembourg.

The agreement includes unlimited capacities, numbers of frequencies and routes, as well as any types of aircraft whether owned or leased that are operated by designated airlines of both countries for passenger and cargo services.

The UAE and Luxembourg also agreed to allow unrestricted nonscheduled operations for private charters between the two countries.
