Reported Plane Explosion Over Vietnam Remains Mystery

Hanoi (VNA) -The origin of a plane that was reported to have exploded over Kien Giang Province’s Phu Quoc Island on May 27 morning is still a mystery, although authorities suspect the plane was not from Vietnam.
A spokesman for Vietnam Airlines, Trinh Ngoc Thanh, said no Vietnam Airlines flights were involved in the explosion. The general director of Vasco Company, Bui Ngoc Hoang, also said the company’s planes were not involved.
The Air Control Department confirmed that when the explosion occurred no civilian or military aircraft were flying over the island.
