Azerbaijan Ready to Sell Ukraine 475,000 Tonnes of Oil for Odesa- Brody Pipeline
PARIS. May 30 (Interfax) – Azerbaijan is prepared to sell Ukraine 475,000 tonnes of oil to fill the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline, Vitaly Bailarbayev, vice president of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), said at a CIS oil and gas summit in Paris on Friday.
The two countries have held preliminary discussions on this issue, he said. “Azerbaijan is ready to sell oil if there are commercially beneficial terms,” he said.
A SOCAR representative said no specific talks have been held on the price of the oil.
Azerbaijan earlier sold Ukraine 40,000 tonnes of oil to transport the first consignment of crude in the regular regime along the Odesa- Brody oil pipeline.
