MGS to Launch Open Season for Amory Storage Capacity
Monroe Gas Storage Company, a joint venture of Foothills Energy Ventures and High Sierra Energy, will be launching a binding open season for up to 3.3 billion cubic feet of firm, high-deliverability storage capacity at its proposed facility being developed near the city of Amory, in the US state of Mississippi.
The Monroe facility will use a depleted natural gas reservoir to provide multi-cycle natural gas storage with a maximum injection capability of 445,000 million cubic feet per day (Mcf/d) and a maximum withdrawal capability of 465,000Mcf/d.
The Monroe gas storage project will have dual interconnections to the Texas Eastern Transmission Company in the M1 market zone and Tennessee Gas Pipeline into the 500-Leg in Zone-1. Monroe expects the facility to be in full service by April 1, 2009.
The binding open season will extend from June 2, 2008, to June 13, 2008. The Monroe Gas Storage Company (MGS) will offer customers firm storage service and market based rates under a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved tariff.
