Oil Prices Fall, Gas Gains on $4 Average

Crude oil prices fell in electronic trading in New York Monday, but the price of gasoline continues to creep toward a national average of $4 per gallon.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil prices fell $1.12 to $126.23 per barrel. The price of heating oil fell 0.0367 cents to $3.63 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices fell 0.0232 cents to $3.325 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.021 cents to $11.724 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline reached $3.975, unchanged from Sunday’s price, but up 0.013 cents from Friday and up 0.811 cents per gallon from a year ago, AAA said.
