Reborn Hotel Brings a Renaissance to Newark Airport Market

The Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel is living up to its name by bringing new life to the Newark and Elizabeth market. Today marks the beginning of the second phase of a comprehensive, $25 million renovation project as cranes begin replacement of the existing HVAC system with an energy-efficient natural gas HVAC system. Hotel improvements also include the re-creation of the facade, newly appointed guest rooms, and a state-of-the-art fitness center among other improvements.
Luxuries, such as 37-inch flat-screen televisions and the latest in data connectivity in every redesigned guest room, are just a few of the amenities the property now offers. The hotel provides the most meeting space available on a single level in the area, and a new award-winning chef is at the helm of both the restaurant and banquet services for corporate meeting and social events.
"We are excited to be able to offer the Renaissance Brand to our guests who are traveling and planning events in the Newark/Elizabeth area," says David Sharkey, General Manager of Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel. "We look forward to offering them all a new experience while delivering Savvy Service."
In addition to the conversion of the heating and cooling system to an energy efficient natural gas HVAC system, anticipated improvements include re-concepting the on-site restaurant and replacing all of the hotel's windows. The hotel is expected to be complete in the fall of 2008.
Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel offers 17 spacious and imaginatively designed meeting rooms that can be configured for meetings and events of any size. Audiovisual equipment rental and video conferencing are also available throughout the hotel's more than 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including flexible banquet space perfect for small or large weddings. Guests can also enjoy the large indoor heated swimming pool along with the newly renovated fitness center.
Within the guest rooms, form meets function as the Luxurious Bedding Package and updated bathrooms are complemented by workstations with internet access and multiple data port connectivity for laptops, Mp3 players, and more. In addition to room service, guests can dine at the Liberty Grille, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a fun environment featuring 56 televisions spread throughout the restaurant and bar.
Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel is adjacent to Newark Liberty International Airport and is only 12 miles from New York City, with convenient train service to Penn Station. The hotel offers 24-hour complimentary transportation to and from Newark International Airport and is close to many major corporations including Anheuser-Busch, Prudential, PSE&G, ADP, Johnson & Johnson and Schering-Plough.
