C-COM Receives Follow Up Orders for Mobile Antennas From Hughes
Posted on: Wednesday, 4 June 2008, 09:01 CDT
C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. (TSX VENTURE: CMI) announced today that it has received a follow up order for an additional 41 of its iNetVu mobile antennas from Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes), the world's leading provider of broadband satellite networks and services. Hughes will integrate the iNetVu antennas with its HughesNet broadband satellite service for use in remote exploration by one of the world's largest oil and gas services companies.
This is a follow-up order on the initial shipment of approximately 50 antennas to Hughes which have been successfully deployed and are operating reliably under extreme environmental conditions typical of the locations in which they are used.
"We are very pleased to receive this additional order for 41 iNetVu mobile antenna systems from Hughes," said Leslie Klein, president and CEO of C-COM Satellite Systems. "This repeat order confirms to us that Hughes and its customers are satisfied with the performance and reliability of the product and that it is meeting their expectations.
The C-COM-manufactured antennas are already deployed worldwide by a number of energy exploration companies and are providing invaluable services to this industry by delivering instant satellite communications (data, video, and voice) into areas where there are no other means of connectivity.
"It is gratifying to see one of the world's largest oil and gas service companies endorsing our product by purchasing and deploying it in large quantities," added Klein.
