Alcatel-Lucent Signs $10 Million Network Expansion Contract With TrueMove

Alcatel-Lucent has signed a $10 million GSM/EDGE expansion contract with TrueMove, a mobile operator in Thailand.

According Alcatel-Lucent, this network enhancement and expansion will enable TrueMove to increase the capacity and coverage of its existing GSM/EDGE network in Bangkok, Central-West, South and North regions of Thailand, and enhance its mobile traffic backhaul capabilities.

Under the terms of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will deploy its multi-standard radio access solution including its latest Base Station Controller platform (BSC Evolution) and fully flexible TWIN transceiver, and deliver a new intelligent network convergent charging platform at core network. Alcatel-Lucent will also supply its microwave systems that, together with the optical multi-service platforms already deployed, offer TrueMove an optimized solution to aggregate multiple traffic types and backhaul the mobile traffic from base stations in provinces to the core.
