Jun. 5–TOKYO — Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Thursday it has won orders from Turkish and Ukrainian electricity generators for gas turbines for natural gas-fired power plants.

The Turkish order for two M701F gas turbines brings the cumulative number of Mitsubishi Heavy gas turbines ordered from Turkey to seven. The Ukrainian order covers the fourth one for that country.

The Turkish order came from Enerjisa Enerji Uretim A.S. for the two gas turbines to be used for a 920-megawatt power plant in Bandirma, which will go on stream in August 2010.

The gas turbine for Ukraine will go to a new 300-megawatt power plant to be built in the Komsomolsk industrial area. It will start operations in June 2011.
