MagnaChip Semiconductor, a designer and manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products, has launched its driver chip TA7502 for TFT-LCD displays.
MagnaChip has said that the TA7502 driver chip integrates QVGA resolution (320x240) and supports TFT-LCD displays that produce 262,144 colors. The new chip supports 18/16 bit bus interface, which increases the recording speed from MPU to DDRAM.
The TA7502 also provides diverse power saving modes, such as Standby Mode and Partial Display Mode. It incorporates Smart Mobile Luminance Control (SMLC) technology, which improves power efficiency in digital devices.
Tae Young Hwang, executive vice president and general manager of MagnaChip's Display Solutions Division, said: "The introduction of products with SMLC technology is timely given the increasing demand for green, energy efficient products. We expect to continue to launch additional driver chips with SMLC technology and other distinctive features to meet this growing demand."
