Tokyo, June 6 (Jiji Press)–The Japanese and Chinese governments on Friday agreed to exchange lists of their inventories of mutually supplied nuclear power equipment and materials.

The agreement is part of their efforts to strengthen cooperation for peaceful use of nuclear power under their bilateral nuclear power pact signed in 1986.

To meet growing energy demand, China plans to build 60 new nuclear power plants by 2030.

The latest accord is intended to lay the groundwork for an expected increase in supply of relevant equipment to China by Japanese manufacturers such as Toshiba Corp. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. .END
