Rosukrenergo Claims $55 Mln From Ukraine’s Naftogaz in Stockholm

MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) – The Swiss-registered RosUkrEnergo AG, which is the exclusive distributor imported natural gas in Ukraine, has filed a claim with the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce seeking $55 million in penalties from Ukraine’s Naftogaz for overdue payment for gas supplied in 2006, a RosUkrEnergo source told Interfax.

The source said the claim was filed at the end of April and that the proceedings were in their initial phase.

The source said Naftogaz currently owed more than $700 million for gas supplied in April (partially) and in May 2008.

An officials at RosUkrEnergo was not willing to comment on the information.
