Hawaiian Airlines Increases Fuel Surcharge

Posted on: Monday, 9 June 2008, 03:00 CDT

Hawaiian Airlines has announced that it is increasing its fuel surcharge to $20 each way, effective immediately, from $100 to $120 on flights to and from the mainland US in response to the continuing escalation in fuel costs resulting from record oil prices.

The airline is also increasing fuel surcharge by $20 each way for trans-Pacific service between Hawaii and Pago Pago, American Samoa, from $110 to $130, and between Hawaii and Papeete, Tahiti, from $120 to $140.

Keoni Wagner, vice president of public affairs at Hawaiian Airlines, said: "The relentless rise in fuel costs leaves us with no choice but to pass some of these increasing costs on to the consumer."
