Swiss International to Increase Fuel Surcharge

Swiss International Air Lines has announced that fuel surcharge on its long-haul flights will increase by CHF11 to CHF155 per sector, while the fuel surcharge for European flights will rise by CHF3 to CHF39 per sector, effective June 12, 2008.
The airline said that the tickets issued up to and including June 11, 2008, will be subject to the present surcharge provisions. Swiss has stated that it will continue to adjust its fuel surcharges in response to further fuel price trends on the commodities markets.
Swiss also said that if the prices of crude oil fall to below its present level for more than four weeks, it will rescind this latest fuel surcharge increase.
