The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of 12,553 cases of Post-brand LiveActive Mixed Berry Crunch cereal due to a labeling error.
The FDA said Kraft Foods Inc. initiated the voluntary nationwide recall because the cereal might contain undeclared tree nuts, such as almonds, pecans or walnuts, posing a health risk to people who are allergic to nuts.
The recalled cereal has a Best When Used By date of 17DEC2008 and a UPC code of 00430000238900.
Consumers with tree nut allergies are advised to discard the cereal and contact the company at 866-771-1511 for a full refund.
