Post-Brand 'LiveActive' Cereal Recalled

Posted on: Monday, 9 June 2008, 12:00 CDT

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of 12,553 cases of Post-brand LiveActive Mixed Berry Crunch cereal due to a labeling error.

The FDA said Kraft Foods Inc. initiated the voluntary nationwide recall because the cereal might contain undeclared tree nuts, such as almonds, pecans or walnuts, posing a health risk to people who are allergic to nuts.

The recalled cereal has a Best When Used By date of 17DEC2008 and a UPC code of 00430000238900.

Consumers with tree nut allergies are advised to discard the cereal and contact the company at 866-771-1511 for a full refund.

Ok. So why is there no nut crunch live active cereal on any shelf in any store? The namealone on that flavor should give even the dumbest of the dumb a clue that there are nuts in that one!
