Swedish construction firm NCC has secured an assignment to renovate and extend the central entrance and goods reception area of the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant located on the Baltic coast of Sweden. Work is scheduled for completion in summer 2010 and the order has a value of approximately SEK150 million.

NCC’s order is a sub-project in the ongoing update of security around the facility to comply with new, more stringent directives from the Swedish Nuclear Power Inspectorate.

Due to overheating in the Swedish market, a number of large deliveries will be procured from abroad. Concrete framework and facade components will be purchased from Germany and Poland. Work will begin immediately and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2010.
