Today SITA announced a new partnership with Com-Net Software, a leading provider of information display and public address systems. With this partnership, regional airports in North America will now be able to deploy IT technology on a similar scale to the major airport hubs.

Com-Net Software is now a member of the SITA Channel Partner Program, which aims to reach out to regional airports with its world-leading airport IT applications and services. Com-Net will now be able to distribute SITA products and services to a target list of cities in North America and will focus on the deployment of SITA airport systems.

“Thanks to our partnership with SITA, regional airports in North America will benefit from this portfolio expansion and the systems integration to Com-Net Software’s global solutions. There is a real need to increase the efficiency of the check-in and baggage handling processes in regional airports which are tremendously increasing their passenger throughput,” said Dave Michaels, President of Com-Net Software.

“In the North American market, the regional airports have a great potential for growth. As the industry adapts and changes to economic conditions, it is important for the airports to address growth in traffic and upgrade their IT services in line both with airlines’ and passengers’ expectations,” said Sandra Girona, Regional Vice President, North America for SITA.

The role of SITA in the partnership, in addition to providing base solutions and specifications, is to provide a robust training and certification for the partners, build their competencies, provide full remote support and continue to bring in new products and services based on local market demand. Com-Net Software will be supported by SITA customer service and industry specialists.

Solutions and services available under the Indirect Channels label includes SITA’s flagship check-in applications, such as AirportConnect CUTE, AirportConnect Kiosk, Bag Manager, Bag Message and DCS (Departure Control System) in Application Service Provider mode, thereby helping airports to reduce the total cost of ownership.
