Oil in Our Backyard
The gas prices are getting a little out of hand.
In three days’ time, gas at a station on San Bernardino Road in Montclair went up 16 cents a gallon. This is a little outrageous.
We could be independent from the Middle East if the environmentalists would get off their soap boxes and stop preaching to save the wild country of Alaska and other parts of the United States.
We have enough oil here in the United States to sustain ourselves. Here in California there are oil wells that were pumping oil in the 1960s and nothing was said negatively about them then. We could operate these wells now if it weren’t for the environmentalists. Also we could build one or two more refineries.
These outrageous gas price increases are only lining the pockets of the big gas companies. No wonder they made billions in profits in the first quarter of this year. They charge the truckers a high price for diesel, who in turn charge more for the products that they transport to the retail stores, who in turn charge higher prices for their products.
The elderly and the low-income families are the ones who are really hurting.
Wake up, America. Boycott the gas stations for a couple of days by gassing up on a Sunday night and not patronizing the gas stations until Wednesday and see what happens then.
