Reward Call By Net Theft Skipper
Brixham fishermen are reeling after the theft of hundreds of pounds of equipment during the weekend.
Rob Penfold, skipper of fishing boat Fiona Mary said that 6,000 yards of bass gill nets worth pounds300 had been stolen from the store at Brixham breakwater and pots belonging to fisherman Trevor Parnell have also been stolen.
Mr Penfold is offering pounds100 reward for information leading to the arrest conviction of the culprits.
Mr Penfold said: "It was all brand new gear and who ever took it must have known what they were doing because it is not easy stuff to move and they left other nets behind.
"I am hoping that people who may have been enjoying a walk at the harbour over the weekend may have seen something," he said.
Brixham based Sgt Dave Casley said the theft occurred between last Thursday and Monday.
Police are appealing for information on 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
