At least 100 people were evacuated from a Southwest Airlines jetliner at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Calif., after the pilot said he smelled smoke.

The pilot of Flight 3526 called control tower officials Saturday to say he smelled smoke in the cockpit, airport spokeswoman Jenny Wedge said.

The plane was coming from Oakland, Calif., with more than 100 passengers when the incident took place, the Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Saturday.

All passengers exited safely and inspectors found no smoke or damage within the plane, Wedge said.
