Globecomm Wins $1.2 Million Infrastructure Contract

Globecomm Systems, a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has won an infrastructure contract from a mobile telecommunications operator valued at $1.2 million.
Globecomm will design, integrate and install satellite infrastructure in the country of Panama consisting of a major hub and six remote sites. Once complete, the infrastructure will expand the customer's network footprint enabling the transmission of IP-based data and voice traffic via remote GSM cellular backhaul for the telecom operator.
David Hershberg, CEO and chairman of Globecomm Systems, said: "Globecomm's mobile communication infrastructure deployments continue to expand as demonstrated by this contract. The Company will continue to invest in mobile communication technology for the foreseeable future as we extend our business model."
