Pa. Coal Miner Dies in Roof Collapse

A Pennsylvania coal miner was killed Monday when the roof of the underground mine collapsed, authorities said.

Robert Carey, 45, of Shamokin, was fatally injured at the Harmony Mine in Mount Carmel, WNEP-TV in Moosic, Pa., reported.

The last death at the mine was in 2004, when a section of roof crushed a miner. The cause of the latest fatality was under investigation, WNEP-TV said.
