French clean energy firm EDF Energies Nouvelles's US subsidiary, enXco, has signed an agreement with MidAmerican Energy to build the Walnut wind farm in Iowa. This 100.5MW project is due to be completed in late 2008.
The agreement between enXco and MidAmerican Energy covers the construction of a wind farm consisting of 67 GE turbines, each with a capacity of 1.5MW.
Following on from the 99MW Crane Creek wind farm, which will be developed and built on behalf of the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, the Walnut project is the second contract signed in 2008 by enXco to build a wind farm for a third party in the US.
