SeaMobile Awarded Contract With United States General Services Administration (GSA)

June 17, 2008

SeaMobile Enterprises, the dominant global service provider of at-sea communications, connectivity and content services, announced today that its MTN Satellite Services division was awarded a major contract by the General Services Administration (GSA). The award authorizes MTN to offer its full suite of satellite communication services to government agencies, including the U.S. military, via its GSA schedule. GSA is an independent agency of the United States government established to help manage and support the basic functions of federal agencies.

MTN Satellite Services provides “Always On – Always Available” worldwide connectivity through its integrated global C-Band and multi-regional Ku-Band VSAT networks. The company is dedicated to serving the specialized needs of the government and military. Its advanced IP over MPLS backbone is approved for use with U.S. government encryption technologies, and provides a secure, private, reliable, redundant and robust integrated global network. The solutions are everything-over-IP, dynamic, flexible, managed telecommunications services.

SeaMobile’s MTN Satellite Services group provides telecommunication solutions to a significant number of government entities today, including the Military Sealift Command, the Space and Missile Defense Command, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, the Naval Research Laboratory, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, the Commander, Naval Installations Command, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to name a few.

“Winning a GSA schedule contract is an important step that opens up significantly more opportunities for SeaMobile to serve the important communication needs of the U.S. government and military,” said Bill Harrington, Vice President of Advanced Programs & Government Solutions for SeaMobile, and a former U.S. Naval officer. “This long-term contract gives all government agencies easy and fast access to our communications solutions by establishing us as a pre-approved vendor cleared to do business with the federal government.”

A GSA schedule contract is an official federal contract to provide services for government agencies. GSA schedules are the favored purchasing mechanism for federal buyers, and to be an approved GSA supplier under a schedule, vendors must go through a rigorous application process.

SeaMobile will be exhibiting at the AFCEA Joint Warfighting Conference in Virginia Beach, Va. June 17-19. Information on services can be found in booth 205 and at www.seamobile.com.
