Old Town Airport Receives Federal Grant

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation has approved a $535,619 grant for Dewitt Field at the Old Town Municipal Airport, U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud announced Monday.
The funds will be used primarily for repavement because the asphalt at the airport is considered to have exceeded its useful life and shows signs of deterioration.
The work funded by the grant “will improve the airport’s safety and help with our regional economic development efforts,” said Michaud, who represents the 2nd District.
