Norwegian energy company StatoilHydro has entered into an agreement for a two-year extension of a current contract, on behalf of the Troll license partners, with Odfjell Drilling for the Deepsea Trym drilling rig.
This contract gives StatoilHydro rig coverage at the Troll field for the short-term and allows for the realization of planned drilling activities in the area. Deepsea Trym is owned by Songa Offshore and its operator is Odfjell Drilling.
Ivar Aasheim, senior vice president for StatoilHydro's North Sea operations, said: "The contract extension allows StatoilHydro to continue carrying out efficient and good resource management on the Norwegian continental shelf. Increased oil recovery is an essential part of the further development of the Troll field."
