Hampshire Hotels & Resorts has selected Alcatel-Lucent to provide IP communications solution to its rooms.
According to Alcatel-Lucent, the new communications network leverages a wide range of its technologies including IP telephony, WiFi, LAN switching, contact centers, and data security. Based on this solution, guests will enjoy video phone intercoms that will let guests see who is at the door.
Additionally, interactive in-room LCD displays will allow them to view a menu of hotel services, including room service, and place orders through a phone call or digital interaction.
Tom Burns, head of Alcatel-Lucent's enterprise activities, said: "Hampshire Hotels exemplifies what we call a dynamic enterprise. The company is differentiating itself through its state-of-the-art communications, using the network to improve business processes and connect employees and guests quickly and securely to the information they need and want."
