OpenSkies to Begin Commercial Operations With Paris-New York Service

British Airways's new subsidiary airline OpenSkies has announced the launch of its first commercial flight, to service Paris Orly and the New York John F Kennedy International Airport.
OpenSkies will operate daily services between Paris and New York on Boeing 757 aircraft that will carry up to 82 passengers. A second Boeing 757 is scheduled to join OpenSkies later 2008 from British Airways's fleet. There will be six OpenSkies aircraft by the end of 2009.
The other European destinations being considered for OpenSkies include Amsterdam, Netherlands; Brussels, Belgium; Frankfurt, Germany; and Milan, Italy.
Willie Walsh, CEO of British Airways (BA), said: "We are confident that OpenSkies will have a successful future. It will benefit from BA's experience in the transatlantic market and have the ability to be innovative and respond quickly to changing customer demands."
