Gulf Ethanol Unveils Biomass Reduction Technology

Gulf Ethanol, an alternative energy company focused on the development of cellulosic ethanol, has unveiled its new biomass reduction technology.

The cellulosic preprocessing system unveiled by Gulf Ethanol (GFET) was designed to reduce sorghum and other biomass into a fine powder that can be processed into ethanol more efficiently.

Feedstock pre-processing is a key step toward efficient cellulosic ethanol production. With US energy consumption expected to grow over 18% by 2030, cellulosic ethanol made from non-food feedstock, is expected to play a significant role in the diversification of nation’s energy sources.

GFET’s technology reportedly demonstrates the efficiency of cellulosic materials as the basic feedstock for ethanol production. The success of this project will position Gulf Ethanol as a provider of ethanol production technology. Gulf Ethanol holds the exclusive, worldwide, distribution rights to this system.
