easyJet Introduces Online Extra Weight Pre-Payment Service
easyJet has introduced a new facility to allow passengers to purchase online extra weight allowance for their hold baggage, in advance of their flight.
The airline said that the new facility will allow passengers to pay their excess weight charges online at a reduced rate, which will also save them time at the airport.
The extra weight will be available in denominations of three kilograms at a rate of GBP15 per three kilograms, a saving of GBP3 when compared to payment at the check-in desk on the day of travel.
The customers can pre-pay for excess baggage at the time of booking, either online or on the telephone. If a customer wishes to pre-pay for excess baggage after the booking has been made, initially, this amendment can only be done via the contact centre.
Peter Gerstle, product development manager at easyJet, said: “Extra weight pre-payment is the latest facility easyJet has introduced to save its passengers time and money. easyJet’s website has been designed to make life easier for its customers providing the greatest range of functionality and convenience in advance, making the process of traveling through the airport much quicker and hassle free.”
