KUALA LUMPUR: With freshly cooked food served twice a day, Giant Hypermarkets offer its customers nutritious food at low cost.

GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd corporate communications manager Zamri Maulan said for RM2.99 to RM4.29, customers could get a complete meal – rice and vegetables with meat, fish or chicken at the Ready to Eat section.

“We prepare fresh food every day.

“Any leftovers at the end of the day are disposed of,” he said.

Cooks start preparing the food at 7am and is ready by 10am for the lunchtime crowd. For dinner, the food is ready by 5pm, he said.

And the hypermarket ensures the nutritional content is not compromised despite the low price.

“When deciding on the menu, we take into consideration value-for- money, balanced nutritional content and customer demand,” he said.

“Although prices of ingredients have been increasing, we maintain our prices.”

He said the crowd peaked at lunchtime and the most popular item was potato bread priced at RM2.79.
