Air Berlin has announced that its sales director, Carsten Kroger, will be leaving the company, effective December 31, 2008.

In equal partnership with Peter Merscher, he will be running the International Carrier Consult firm from his residence in Hanover, Germany. The new company will be acting as a general sales agent for foreign airlines.

Mr Merscher founded Merscher Carrier Consult in 1988 and now represents Air Via of Bulgaria, Karthago Airlines of Tunisia and Air Europa of Spain. Mr Kroger will be drawing up the summer schedule 2009 and will also conduct negotiations with tour operators.

Joachim Hunold, CEO of Air Berlin, said: “We regret that Mr Kroger will be leaving us, as he played a major part in our company’s growth. We are parting company on the best of terms and wish him every conceivable success in his new line of business.”
