NEW YORK, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- WFN: World Fishing Network, the only 24/7 cable television network dedicated exclusively to the angling and fishing industry, is teaming up with Verizon to "Adopt an Angler" and award America's most deserving angler the boat of his or her dreams -- an all-new, $15,000 Stratos 176XT, fully-equipped 17-foot bass fishing boat.
The promotion is being supported with a dedicated website which can be found at http://www.wfn.tv/adopt and http://www.verizon.net/adopt. In addition, there will be on-air promotions, in-store campaigns at select Verizon Plus stores in Florida and Texas, and marketing opportunities at several consumer events. The promotion is the network's first in the USA since it launched on Verizon FiOS TV in November 2007.
To enter, Verizon FiOS TV subscribers can submit an essay or video explaining why they should be adopted by WFN. Videos must be between 10 seconds and three minutes and essays must be no longer than 500-words. Enter online at http://www.wfn.tv/adopt or http://www.verizon.net/adopt or via mail to: WFN, 184 Pearl Street, Suite 302, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 1L5 Attn: "WFN Adopt an Angler Contest". WFN will also award three runners-up with $500 shopping sprees to the local fishing retailer of their choice and a $250 prize to the top vote getters. All submissions must be received by July 31, 2008.
Currently U.S. consumers can see WFN on Verizon's FiOS TV service, which offers more than 400 all-digital channels including approximately 30 high-definition channels in most markets, and access to more than 10,000 on-demand titles, 70 percent of which are free.
