Verizon Wireless has expanded its BroadbandAccess, its wireless broadband service, to Jefferson and St Lawrence counties in New York.
According to the company, customers living in and visiting the area can now access their e-mail, corporate data and the internet at broadband speeds, in their homes or on the road. The company has also added CDMA 1x Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev. A) technology to various sites in the US.
Verizon claims that BroadbandAccess provides an average download speeds of 600 kilobits per second (kbps) to 1.4 megabits per second (mbps) and average upload speeds of 500-800 kbps.
The company's high-speed network also enables its V CAST multimedia services, offering customers the ability to download full-song tracks from a library of over three million tunes, play 3D games and stream video clips with better transmission speeds.
BroadbandAccess is available for $39.99 monthly access for 50MB of data usage, or $59.99 monthly access for 5GB of data usage with a new one-or two-year agreement.
