Wireless Matrix Integrates With the ARRIS WorkAassure(TM) Solution to Provide Cable Companies With Real-Time Location-Based Services for Optimized Workforce Management

June 24, 2008

RESTON, VIRGINIA–(Marketwire – June 24, 2008) – Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX:WRX), a leader in mobile resource management (MRM), today announced it has developed and implemented an interface with ARRIS’ (NASDAQ:ARRS) WorkAssure, the leading work force management solution supporting the world wide cable and direct broadcast satellite markets. This integration will provide cable and direct broadcast satellite companies with a real-time location-based enhanced solution for optimized workforce management, including scheduling, dispatching and routing of technicians.

“ARRIS WorkAssure is one of the leading workforce management applications available for cable and satellite companies,” said Rich Carlson, CEO and president, Wireless Matrix. “The combination of the ARRIS Assurance Solutions and Wireless Matrix platforms will enable these companies to not only pinpoint the right technician for a job based on skill set and availability, but now proximity of the technician’s location. These companies are sure to see their level of customer satisfaction soar as a bi-product of reduced response times.”

Using ARRIS’ WorkAssure, cable operators have the ability to automate dispatch and field operations. WorkAssure brings together back-office systems with field operations to give field technicians a 360-degree view of a customer. The application is used for routing and dispatching activities and provides support to the entire operational center. The ARRIS solution allows dispatchers to easily assign orders in real-time based on a technician’s skill set and availability to improve the efficiency and productivity of the technician. Paperwork is eliminated, dispatch call volume goes down and customer responsiveness increases.

With the integration of Wireless Matrix’s FleetOutlook, a web- based application that provides management and fleet operators 360- degree visibility into their operations via comprehensive reporting, exception-based alerts, nearest vehicle search and an interactive mapping interface, users of ARRIS’ WorkAssure will now benefit from the added functionality of real-time location-based services. Dispatchers will now have the ability to assign work orders based not only on the skill set and availability of the technician but also on the real-time location of the technician.

“ARRIS is primed to supply its premier workforce management solution to the world’s cable operators,” said Bailey Shewchuk, ARRIS vice president & general manager, Assurance Solutions Division, Media & Communication Systems. “The flexible design of WorkAssure with real-time Automatic Vehicle Location will provide cable operators a reliable means for tracking and routing, thereby fulfilling their goals to provide high customer service satisfaction.”

By taking advantage of the Wireless Matrix/ARRIS WorkAssure integration, cable and satellite companies can:

– Eliminate the hassle of jockeying between two different applications by having the real-time locations of their fleet on one ARRIS WorkAssure TechDirector dispatching screen

– Automate technicians’ routes and gain efficiency

– Increase productivity

– Reduce costs significantly as near-missed appointments are avoided and travel time is minimized

– Improve customer satisfaction by decreasing technicians’ response times.

Time Warner Cable in Austin, Texas, will be the first customer to deploy the Wireless Matrix and ARRIS WorkAssure integration.

“We’re looking forward to deploying the Wireless Matrix/ARRIS integration to enhance our routing and dispatch activities combined with our real-time location-based services functionality,” said Doug Bender, workforce management supervisor, Time Warner Cable Austin. “We expect our customers to benefit from decreased response times and improved customer satisfaction ratings.”
