MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) – Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) plans to start extracting gas at the Kirinskoye field on the Sakhalin shelf in 2014, Vasily Podyuk, the head of the company’s gas, gas condensate and oil production department, said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“We are planning to develop the Kirinskoye block. Production will start in 2014. In total, the Sakhalin-3 project is expected to produce 24.8 billion cubic meters in 2020,” he said.

The Russian government transferred the Kirinskoye gas field with ABC1+1C2 reserves of 60.6 bcm to Gazprom in May. The company is currently carrying out preparatory measures at the field.

“For now, Gazprom is using its own resources,” Podyuk said when asked if the company could cooperate with Rosneft (RTS: ROSN) in this project.
