AmBev to Construct Malt Factory in Brazil
With an investment of $132 million, AmBev has said that it will construct a new malt factory in Brazil, reported the Spanish news agency Efe.
To be located in the southern Brazilian town of Passo Fundo, the new plant will produce 110,000 tons of malt per month.
Breweries in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Sao Paulo will be supplied to by this plant, which is scheduled to begin production in 2009. This malt plant will initially employ 400 people and is expected to generate additional jobs moving forward.
