BOC Aviation, an aircraft leasing company, has acquired its third Boeing 777-300ER aircraft under a purchase and leaseback agreement with Air Canada.

The airline took delivery of the new aircraft from the manufacturer’s facility in Everett, in the US state of Washington, and will lease it for a period of 12 years.

With this transaction, BOC Aviation will have nine Boeing 777s in its portfolio, accounting for 11% of the overall fleet.

Robert Martin, CEO of BOC Aviation, said: “The company is looking to expand its fleet via purchase and leasebacks and this transaction fits well with the overall strategy. Our current portfolio is built around fuel-efficient twin engine aircraft.”
