Bio-Mass Producers Will Get Another Customer
Plzenska teplarenska (PT) (Pilsen, Czech Republic), heat power company, is starting to build a power unit for bio-mass combustion worth CEK 850 mil in 2008. PT plans to start this unit in Mar 2010. It is the largest source for bio-mass combustion in the Czech Republic and an important source within the EU. PT plans to produce 25% of energy from renewable sources in 2010 as compared with 14% in 2007. PT combusted about 60,000 tonnes of bio-mass in 2007 and it plans to combust 90,000 tonnes in 2008. PT needs 600,000 tonnes/y of fuel to provide heat and electricity supplies. It is represented mostly by brown coal for now.
