WGL Holdings, Inc. Chairman and CEO Takes Seat on Maryland Board of Education
WGL Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:WGL), Chairman and CEO James H. DeGraffenreidt, Jr. will be sworn in as a member of the Maryland Board of Education on July 7, 2008. Governor Martin O’Malley nominated DeGraffenreidt in December 2007 with the position confirmed during the 2008 legislative session.
Of the appointment, DeGraffenreidt says, “I am honored for the opportunity to help the Governor advance his vision for education in the State of Maryland.”
DeGraffenreidt will join the board with fellow nominees Kate Walsh, President of the National Council on Teacher Quality and Dr. Ivan Walks, chief executive officer and president of Ivan Walks and Associates.
DeGraffenreidt holds the degrees of Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale College. He lives with his family in Baltimore.
