Cabinet Will Approve Rules of Indiscriminate Access to Gas Pipelines on July 7
MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) – The Russian government will approve the rules of indiscriminate access to gas pipelines on July 7, head of the Unified Energy Systems (UES) [RTS: EESR] Anatoly Chubais told a news conference on Monday.
He said that it was announced at the latest meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin that the UES reform would serve as a pilot project for all natural monopolies.
The liberalization of access of independent producers to the gas transportation network is a form of separating monopoly and competitive activities, Chubais said.
Sooner or later the gas market in Russia will be liberalized, he said.
