Singapore Airlines Takes Delivery of Fifth A380

Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of its fifth A380 at the Airbus delivery centre in Toulouse, France.
The airline said that, with the addition of this fifth A380 into its fleet, it will upgrade more of its B747-400 flights to A380 operations on the Singapore-London route.
From August 2, 2008 to August 8, 2008, the aircraft will be deployed to Beijing, China, to cater to the increased demand in the lead-up to the 2008 Olympic Games.
The airline has firm orders for a further 14 A380s and options on six more. Singapore Airlines has also taken delivery of its 18th Boeing 777-300ER aircraft at the Boeing delivery centre at Everett, Washington.
