SSP Acquires Airport Restaurant Business of Lufthansa Subsidiary

SSP has acquired the airport restaurant business of Lufthansa subsidiary LSG-Airport Gastronomiegesellschaft.
According to the company, the agreement incorporates all LSG-Airport Gastronomiegesellschaft's concessions in landside and airside areas at Berlin-Tegel Airport, Berlin-Schonefeld Airport, Bremen Airport, Cologne/Bonn Airport, Frankfurt Airport and Munich International Airport.
The acquired business has an annual turnover of around E27 million, and operates 36 cafes, bars and food courts, incorporating such brands as Illy Espresso, Lavazza, Segafredo, and Beck's Beer Bars.
Johann Weinzettl, CEO of SSP central Europe, Middle East and India, said: "The German airport market represents a huge opportunity for growth for SSP. We have exciting plans for expansion within Germany and the rest of Europe, and this is an excellent platform for this growth."
