MWW Group Selected By JetBlue Airways for Contingency Planning, Incident Response and Issues Management Counsel
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MWW Group, one of the nation's top ten public relations firms, today announced that it has been retained by JetBlue Airways to provide ongoing contingency planning and training services, incident response support and issues management counsel. A dedicated, multi-national incident response team comprised of senior counselors from MWW Group's global network of offices, affiliates and agency partners will provide on-site support for JetBlue Airways in each of its 53 markets across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.
"We're pleased to announce that after a long and thorough review of agencies JetBlue Airways has selected MWW Group as its issues management counsel," said Todd Burke, vice president of corporate communications at JetBlue Airways. "MWW Group brought to the table a team of senior counselors with significant experience in our space, an innovative yet sound communications approach for our operations, and a business style and culture that aligns perfectly with JetBlue Airways. MWW Group is a great choice and we're looking forward to a long relationship."
"Helping a corporation protect its reputation and mount an effective response to sensitive issues or during highly-publicized incidents is a significant responsibility, and with an airline that responsibility is magnified," said Michael W. Kempner, MWW Group president and chief executive officer. "MWW Group is honored that JetBlue Airways has selected us for this important assignment and we are gratified by the trust in our experience, capabilities and counsel this engagement represents."
The JetBlue Airways engagement and the multi-national incident response team will be managed from MWW Group's New York City office under the direction of Matthew Rose and Carreen Winters, both executive vice presidents and the agency's corporate communications practice director and deputy director respectively. Caribbean and Latin American operations will be supported by The Jeffrey Group, MWW Group's Miami-based partner and the leading independent agency in Latin America, with a network of local partners in each JetBlue market across the region. Additionally, elements of MWW Group's digital media group will be fully integrated into the response team to help mange online communications and blogosphere interaction during an incident.
"MWW Group brings an uncommon breadth of knowledge and depth of practical experience to the JetBlue Airways assignment," said Kempner. "Counselors supporting JetBlue Airways have worked with numerous carriers in a similar capacity including Continental Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways and TWA, with the team leaders possessing significant on-site experience during highly-publicized incidents.
When you consider the breadth of companies and industries MWW Group's crisis team has been involved with -- from financial services, energy, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods companies, to airlines, tourism destinations, academic institutions and foreign and domestic governments -- and the agency's unique ability to maximize the effectiveness of Internet-based communications during crises, I believe that MWW Group is ideally equipped for this important assignment and a great fit for JetBlue Airway's transparent, customer-centric culture," Kempner concluded.
