Equipment is spread out along Washington Street East as Verizon crews work to repair phone outages. About 600 customers in the East End lost service Sunday evening after a water company crew hit a cluster of underground lines. Verizon spokesman Harry Mitchell said crews are working around the clock to fix the lines. He expects all customers to have service by Thursday.
