Zenit Lv Takeoff Under the Sea Launch Program Slated for July 16

MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax-AVN) – The Sea Launch consortium has slated the takeoff of the Zenit-3SL launch vehicle with the U.S. EchoStar XI satellite from a floating platform in the Pacific for the morning of July 16.
“The takeoff is planned for 9:21 a.m. Moscow time,” Interfax was told at flight control.
The five-tonne EchoStar XI is designed to replenish the satellite fleet of DISH Network Corporation. It will become the third satellite to be launched under the Space Launch program for a corporation that offers satellite broadcasting services to 14 million clients.
